Agonising moment referee jumps in one second too late as boxer collapses to canvas after brutal KO

BOXER Qamil Balla fell to a brutal knockout loss after the referee jumped in just one second too late.

Aussie Balla faced Japanese knockout artist Jin Sasaki on Naoya Inoue’s undercard in Tokyo.

Sasaki came into the bout with a frightening record of 16 KOs in his 17 wins – and he notched one more against Balla.

He stopped his opponent in brutal fashion after a barrage of punches forced Balla into the corner.

Eventually, he collapsed to the ground amid the flurry of combinations with the ref just too late to step in.

Fans were quick to hail ruthless Sasaki, as one said: “Violent finish.”

Another added: Jin Sasaki with an incredible finishing sequence.

Sasaki won a trinket WBO title after his savage stoppage and now has future world championships in his sights.
