In the BBC documentary, Joshua can be seen taking Theroux to visit Watford’s Meriden estate – where AJ grew up.

The pair sat down with the former boxing world champion’s aunt.

It was revealed that two-time heavyweight champ Joshua is known to his family as “Femi”.

The 34-year-old explained that the names AJ, Joshua or Anthony Joshua only began when he started boxing.

He said: “All of a sudden it’s like ‘this is Anthony Joshua’, but everyone here knows me as ‘Femi’.

“Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua is my full name. But everyone called me ‘Femi’.”

His aunt added that Anthony is the boxer and Femi is the man.

She said: “Femi is my nephew, my son. For people in the world, it’s Anthony the boxer. Femi comes first.”

The Brit became the two-time heavyweight world champion as he beat Wladimir Klitschko and Andy Ruiz Jr.

He also won gold at the London Olympics in 2012 and a year later he turned professional.

The documentary with the popular reporter also featured Joshua taking a trip down memory lane to his first gym in Finchley.

And in the interview, Joshua revealed he is determined to reclaim the world championship title.

Anthony Joshua lost his heavyweight titles to Ruiz Jr in 2019 then regained them from the Mexican before losing them again to Ukrainian great Usyk.
