Arsenal fans urge Mikel Arteta ‘sign him up’ as ‘serial finisher’ and ex-Gunners transfer target scores last-gasp winner

ARSENAL fans urged Mikel Arteta to sign Dusan Vlahovic ahead of fellow strikers Ivan Toney and Dominic Solanke after the Serb’s latest dramatic winner for Juventus.

Arteta fears his frontmen have a mental block after three straight defeats, including no goals from 48 scoring attempts in their last two home games.

In contrast, Vlahovic – who has regularly been linked with the Gunners and Chelsea – rose to head a stoppage-time clincher in Juve‘s 2-1 Serie A victory at 10-man Salernitana on Sunday.

One viewer responded: “Please get Vlahović. Serial finisher @Arsenal!”

Another claimed: “He is just what Arsenal needs at this moment…”

Sunday’s 2-0 FA Cup exit at home to Liverpool typified the Gunners’ recent tameness in front of goal.

It left Arsenal legends Ian Wright and Martin Keown joining Sun columnist Piers Morgan and other fans in demanding boss Arteta recruit more firepower.

Brentford’s £80milion-rated poacher Toney, 27, has been touted, helped by his eight-month playing ban ending on January 17.

And Bournenouth’s 26-year-old fellow England hopeful Solanke has also been mentioned.

But supporters have now switched their transfer wishes to Serie Vlahovic after his seventh Italian top-flight goal.

One posted: “We so need a striker like him. Neither (Gabriel) Jesus or (Eddie) Nketiah will ever be that guy.

Another wrote: “Vlahovic scored yesterday 90+2. He is so clinical bring him @Arsenal!”

Suggestions emerged last week that Juventus would consider a cash-plus-player offer from the Gunners for the 23-year-old.

But Juve director Cristiano Giuntoli then denied any knowledge of Arsenal showing interest in the former Fiorentina ace.
