Trusty signed for Arsenal in January 2022 from MLS side Colorado Rapids for a fee of £1.5million.

He was loaned directly back to them for the remainder of the season.

The centre-back then spend last term on loan with Championship side Birmingham and impressed, winning the club’s player of the year award.

Newly-promoted Sheffield United are ready to swoop for the 24-year-old with a deal agreed.

The Athletic report that the Blades will pay Arsenal £5million for him.

Trusty has been capped twice by the United States national side.

Mikel Arteta has deemed his surplus to requirements despite him featuring in friendlies versus Nuremberg and the MLS All-Stars.

Trusty looks set to become Sheffield United’s fourth signing of the summer as they look to bolster their squad after coming second in the Championship last season.

However, they have lost star man Iliman Ndiaye, who scored 15 goals last year to Marseille.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have reportedly agreed personal terms with Brentford goalkeeper David Raya.
