ARSENAL fans believe they have “unlocked a cheat code” after scoring two identical goals against Lyon.

The Gunners have had a productive pre-season campaign and beat German champions Bayer Leverkusen 4-1 on Wednesday.

They followed up that impressive win with another assured display against Lyon, going two goals up in the opening 30 minutes.

Both goals came in identical circumstances too, with Declan Rice delivering two corners that were headed in by Arsenal‘s centre-backs.

William Saliba stepped off the goalkeeper to head in the first after nine minutes before Gabriel ran from deep to direct the ball into the back of the net just 18 minutes later.

The set-piece routines left fans excited as they believe the Gunners have unlocked a “cheat code”.

One fan reacted saying: “Arsenal corner kicks routine is like a cheat code.”

Another added: “Declan Rice corners, we’re so back.”

A third wrote: “Two corners scored, many more coming this season.”

And another commented: “Declan Rice on corners is actually a cheat code.”

Arsenal have a tricky start to the season

Arsenal scored 20 goals from set-pieces in the Premier League last season, more than any other team.

It helped them mount a title push but pundit Jamie Carragher is concerned they will not be able to challenge Manchester City again if they cannot replicate their set-peice success.

He said: “I think a lot of people who I have spoken to have mentioned Arsenal that they think are one step away.

“I get it because for a lot of last season I was watching them with and without the ball and they looked like the best team. It was so difficult to score against them.

“My worry with Arsenal is the amount of goals they scored from set pieces last season, can they do it again?”
