Liverpool were out of action in the Premier League, playing the Carabao Cup final, but lost to Newcastle.

As a result, Arsenal closed the gap, but Liverpool still have a healthy lead at the top of the Premier League.

Fulham themselves are also trying to close down a gap, but to the top four in the Premier League.

They are four points off Chelsea, who currently occupy the fourth position in the Premier League table – although Champions League qualification might stretch to fifth place this season.
