SOLLY MARCH fired Brighton to a first-ever win at Aston Villa after the hosts were denied a late penalty by VAR.

The Seagulls had never tasted victory in their previous 12 visits, but the wideman and Danny Welbeck secured an impressive 2-1 triumph this afternoon.

Villa could have gone top briefly if they could produce a four-goal triumph.

But they were quickly brought down to earth by Welbeck after just 12 minutes.

Ezri Konsa did bring Dean Smith’s side level only seconds after the break.

But it would be March who had the final say.
