Bol chased down the US team in the final turn of the race to snatch the gold for her country.

The 24-year-old helped The Netherlands win in a time of 3:07.43, just narrowly missing the world record that Team USA had set the day before at 3:07.41.

And fans have been reminded of a hilarious clip that saw her compared to popular fictional Disney character Mickey Mouse.

One fan shared the clip and captioned it: “I swear, close your eyes and listen. You’d convince yourself that MICKY MOUSE just won GOLD at the Olympics.”

One user replied: “She is so adorable(and brilliant).”

Another put: “Wow amazing voice.”

A third then added: “I love her voice😊.”

Another joked: “Is she on helium.”

And one fan posted on X: “Congratulations Mickey Mouse.”

Fans did not have to wait too long to see her compete again in the French capital.

Bol, who was one of the favourites going into the 400m hurdle event, stunned the crowd after winning her heat in a time of 53.38 seconds on Sunday morning.

She will now head into Tuesday night’s semi-final in the first position hoping to claim her second gold of the games.

Bol also hit the headlines for the WRONG reasons last year when she sickeningly faceplanted just yards from the finishing line.

It meant the Dutch team did not finish the race officially.

That saw the British 4x400m relay squad of Lewis Davey, Laviai Nielsen, Rio Mitcham and Yemi Mary John finished second behind the United States at the National Athletics Centre in Budapest.

Why is the Olympic track purple?

Athletics icon Carl Lewis unveiled the new look purple track, which was designed by Italian company Mondo.

It is made of rubber, covers an area of around 17,000 square metres and has been extended from eight to nine lanes.

President of the Paris 2024 Organising Committee Tony Estanguet revealed that the idea was to create a more “joyful and festive” tone to the track.

It will feature three colours, two shades of purple (one lighter, closer to lavender and the other darker) and grey on the outside of the track.

Mondo have seen three hundred world records broken since the Italian company produced the tracks since 1972.

And it is hoped that many more will be broken at the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
