GIGGLING Barbara Schett swore live on Eurosport as she revealed a tennis legend was “s*** on” at the Australian Open.

Schett provides courtside insight and interviews from Melbourne Park alongside the likes of Laura Robson and Nick Kyrgios Down Under while Rachel Stringer hosts the studio coverage back in London.

And the Austrian, a mixed doubles finalist Down Under in 2001, dropped a brilliant X-rated clanger during Tuesday’s Australian Open quarter-final coverage.

Sat alongside Mark Philippoussis inside the Rod Laver Arena, Schett confidently told Stringer and the Eurosport pundits that he had been underneath a bird at the wrong time – and did not mince her words.

In the clip shared on social media, Schett says: “It just happened a few minutes ago…

“Mark Philippoussis is sitting next to me and there’s so many seagulls here and he just got s*** on. How did that feel Mark?”

Immediately, there was a gasp and guffaw from new Eurosport host Stringer in the studio.

It is not the first time seagulls have caused chaos at this year’s tournament – with play stopped in various matches due to the birds swirling around the stadiums.

Aussie legend Philippoussis, 47, hilariously leans into view of the camera smiling – clearly unfazed by the deposit – and replies to Schett: “I feel really lucky right now, apparently it’s good luck!”

One witty tennis fan came up with the pun: “Barbara Schett on.”

Another commented: “Philippoussis got pooped on by a seagull and Barbara Schett is dying laughing.”

Schett did not appear to recognise her error though as she laughed live on air.

Stringer then swiftly turned attention to the final match of the night as Andrey Rublev took on Jannik Sinner in the quarter-finals.

The winner of that mammoth tie will face ten-time Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic in the semis.

Djokovic overcame a furious meltdown with his team to beat Taylor Fritz in four sets, with an incredible never-seen-before volley winner on the baseline that left commentators and fans alike stunned.

Philippoussis peaked at No8 in the world rankings, reaching the US Open and Wimbledon finals during his 14-year pro career – the latter defeat coming as Roger Federer claimed the first of his 20 Grand Slams.

The popular Melbourne-born star then found love on a TV dating show – before eventually marrying a top model
