BARCELONA are ready to up their interest in Mason Greenwood, according to reports.
The 22-year-old is currently on loan at Getafe from Manchester United.
Greenwood has impressed in Spain, scoring five goals and registering four assists in 15 games.
His good form has supposedly caught the attention of both Barcelona and Real Madrid.
TalkSPORT claim both the LaLiga giants are interested and Man Utd have no plans to bring him back to Old Trafford.
The club initially had the idea of reintegrating him into the team but then decided against it following backlash from fans.
Greenwood’s deal at United runs until the summer of 2025 and it means they could sell him at the end of this season.
Spanish journalist Adrian Sanchez reports that Barcelona are very keen on the striker as they value his dribbling and goalscoring ability.
However, some Barca supporters are against the idea of signing Greenwood.
One said: “I will literally stop supporting.”
Another added: “We would lose everything I like about this club if we buy him.”
A third wrote: “Where are our values huh?”
Greenwood was arrested in January 2022 after abuse allegations were made against him.
He denied any wrongdoing and the case has since been dropped.
SunSport exclusively revealed that Greenwood and partner Harriet Robson are enjoying living in Spain and they flew back to Manchester for Christmas.
