BAYERN MUNICH have confirmed Harry Kane will be treated by England doctors following an ankle injury he picked up on Saturday.

The Three Lions skipper, 30, was substituted in the 82nd minute of Bayern’s 5-2 win over Darmstadt after colliding with the post.

England fans were immediately concerned for the striker – who has been included in Gareth Southgate’s squad for his country’s upcoming friendlies against Brazil and Belgium.

But Bayern have now revealed he will still travel to link up with the national team.

A club statement read: “Harry Kane injured his left ankle in FC Bayern’s 5-2 win at Darmstadt.

“The striker has still travelled to international duty with England and will be treated by the team doctors there, in close consultation with the FC Bayern medical department.”

Kane, England’s all-time record scorer with 62 goals in 89 caps, has enjoyed a remarkable start to life at Bayern on a personal level.

He has scored 37 times in 35 appearances in all competitions – including 31 in 26 Bundesliga matches.

Kane needs 10 goals in his final eight matches to equal Robert Lewandowski’s single-season Bundesliga record of 41.

Yet despite the ex-Tottenham man’s prolificacy in front of goal, Bayern are set to miss out on the league title for the first time since 2012.

They sit seven points adrift of Bayer Leverkusen having also played one game more.

But Bayern are still in the Champions League where they will face Arsenal in the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, if Kane is unable to start against Brazil on March 23 or Belgium on March 26, Southgate has two recognised strikers as alternative options.

Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins and Brentford’s Ivan Toney have both been included in the England squad.

Watkins was also an injury concern when he hobbled off during Villa’s Europa Conference League win over Ajax.

But he alleviated those worries when he was named in Unai Emery’s starting line-up for their trip to West Ham on Sunday.
