BBC cameras pan to fan’s ‘creepy’ Alisha Lehmann sign as Switzerland star is subbed on at Women’s World Cup

FANS have been left unimpressed after BBC cameras showed a “creepy” message to Alisha Lehmann during the Women’s World Cup.

She was subbed on for Switzerland during the second half of their crunch group game against New Zealand.

And BBC cameras panned to a creepy fan’s sign in the crowd[/caption]

As Lehmann, 24, came on the BBC cameras panned and showed a fans sign with a message that read: “Alisha Lehmann sign my belly so I can be seen on telley.”

And viewers were not impressed with the footage as they took to social media.

One Tweeted: “Media/Broadcasters: Please don’t show creepy dudes with signs asking for Alisha Lehmann to “please sign their belly so they can be seen on telly.

“They are weird perverts and would think we’re better than to promote them.”

A second joked: “She’s not gonna s**g you mate.”

A third added: “‘Alisha Lehmann, sign my belly so I can be on telly’ is wild.”

It is not the first time Lehmann has had a message to her from the stands at the tournament.

During the 2-0 win over the Philippines, in which Lehmann also made a substitute appearance, a fan held up a sign asking for the forward’s shirt.

Lehmann, who stars for Aston Villa in the WSL and is an Instagram sensation, made history last week by becoming the first female cover star for SWM magazine.

Lehmann shares her adventures, travels, bikini photos and enviable lifestyle with her fanbase, although she had to tell her mum to ignore comments on her posts because of internet trolls.

She often shares stunning photos on social media and recently dressed up as a real life barbie.

She has previously spoken about her huge online following, which includes 14million followers on Instagram.

She said: “I appreciate the support so much, it gives me strength on pitch.

“But I really don’t think about it. I don’t think that I’m better than anyone else, I come from humble beginnings with how I grew up with my family in Switzerland.

“I don’t see myself as someone with loads of followers on social media, obviously I’m proud it – alongside my football – but it doesn’t change anything.”

But Lehmann is keen to remind fans she is a footballer and made it clear that football takes priority over everything else.

She said: “Some people just see Instagram and social media and don’t even know I actually play football, when I don’t post a football picture for a week, people say, ‘Oh she doesn’t even play’.

“I think sometimes it’s a bit hard because obviously I train every day, like everyone else, I play every weekend and sometimes it’s hard because they make a picture of you.

“I’m a proper footballer. I work hard every day. I want to be the best version of myself in football and that’s my first priority in life.”

Switzerland and Lehmann drew the game against New Zealand 0-0 and confirmed their spot in the knockout rounds of the competition.
