BBC welcomed the return of Kylian Mbappe to Euro 2024 with a subtle change to their opening title.
The France superstar suffered a broken nose in his country’s first group stage match, a 1-0 win over Austria.
Kylian Mbappe returned to action with a face mask as France drew 1-1 with Poland[/caption]Mbappe missed the next game against Holland, which ended in a 0-0 draw.
But he made a heroic return to France’s XI for last night’s 1-1 draw with Poland.
Mbappe opened his tournament account with a penalty in the 56th minute as he donned a protective face mask.
Yet Poland levelled with a penalty of their own as Robert Lewandowski ensured the points were split.
The result saw France end up finishing second behind Austria, who topped the group after a dramatic 3-2 win over Holland.
But before pre-match coverage had even started, Mbappe took centre stage in the BBC’s opening titles.

And following Mbappe’s broken nose — and subsequent face mask — his character was also given a protective covering in a tweak to the original opening.

One added: “Very clever to add a face mask to Mbappe during their intro.”
France had already qualified for the next round before their draw with Poland.
But the result complicates things as their second-place finish could now result in a horror tie against Belgium depending on results tonight.
Kylian Mbappe ‘snaps up £15m mansion in Beckham’s old neighbourhood’ next door to Real Madrid legend and Hollywood star
By Gerard Couzens
KYLIAN MBAPPE has reportedly splashed out more than £15million on a mansion in Madrid.
The French superstar, whose drawn-out transfer to Real Madrid has finally being confirmed, is said to have finalised the purchase late last month.
Respected Spanish daily La Razon says the house he has bought is in the exclusive Madrid suburb of La Moraleja, where David Beckham spent most of his time living when he was in the Spanish capital.
And it says his neighbours will include former Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos and his stunning model wife Pilar Rubio as well as Hollywood star Richard Gere and his Spanish publicist wife Alejandra Silva.
La Razon said Mbappe had considered the gated estate of La Finca where Jude Bellingham lives and Cristiano Ronaldo still owns property as an option.
But it reported the 25-year-old, who threw an extravagant party for 250 guests at a stylish Italian restaurant a short walk from the Eiffel Tower, ended up opting for La Moraleja a 15-minute drive from Real Madrid’s Valdebebas training complex because it was “more comfortable.”
