Brent Rivera was born on January 9, 1998 in Huntington Beach, California. His father, John, worked as a firefighter while his mother, Laura, worked as a teacher. He is of Mexican and Italian descent and grew up with this three siblings – Brice, Blake, and Lexi. His sister, Lexi, also went on to become a social media personality and the siblings have appeared together in some online projects. Rivera attended Huntington Beach High School where he played varsity ice hockey.

From a young age, Rivera was interested in content creation and acting. He appeared in several commercials as a child but primarily started working on his online presence. He created his own YouTube Channel in 2009 where he would upload videos of himself. When the application Vine became popular, he created his own channel on that platform in 2013. He amassed nearly 10 million followers on Vine. His followers appreciated his quick-witted and silly content and as he grew more popular on the platform, he also began collaborating with other content creators. He also toured the United States with some of the other very popular creators on Vine, visiting major cities like San Diego, Boston, and Philadelphia. In 2015, he received an award at the 2015 MTV Music Awards in the Best Dressed category.

After Vine was shut down in 2016, Rivera began focusing on growing his YouTube platform. While he had created his own channel back in 2009, he had not grown his following on the platform as he had been focused on Vine. However, many of his followers from Vine followed him to YouTube and he was able to grow his following in a short amount of time. In 2020, he appeared as himself in the show "Group Chat" on Nickelodeon. He initially appeared in one episode in the first season before having a main role in the second season of the show. At the 10th Streamy Awards in 2020, Rivera won the Juanpa Zurita's Creator Honor Award. The following year, he was nominated in the Creator of the Year and Lifestyle categories. He also appeared in an episodes of "Dhar Mann" on YouTube.

Rivera is also the co-founder and CEO of Amp Studios, a talent incubator and content group. In 2020, the group generated 10 billion social media views each month.
