Brentford hijack Tottenham’s transfer bid for teenage starlet with shock deal worth £25m

BRENTFORD have beaten Tottenham to the signing of Antonio Nusa, according to reports.

The Brugge prodigy has impressed since breaking into the first team last season and has three goals and two assists this year.

He caught the eye of Tottenham who were tipped to complete a deal this month.

Nusa, 18, also attracted attention from Chelsea after being labelled “one of Europe’s most exciting young talents”.

Brugge rejected a £23million offer from the Blues on deadline day in the summer.

But they have now accepted a bid of around £27m from Brentford, according to Fabrizio Romano.

However the winger is set to remain at Club Brugge until the end of the season, so will arrive at Bees in the summer.

Nusa has benefitted from first-team opportunities in Belgium with 64 appearances under his belt.

He also has Champions League experience and one goal in four games for Norway.

Spurs were tracking Nusa in the summer, along with Brentford, with Thomas Frank’s side winning the race to his signature.

Spurs have also been beaten to another wonderkid, Arthur Vermeeren, after he signed for Atletico Madrid.

But Ange Postecoglou has been able to bolster his squad with the additions of Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin this month.
