Bring it on Blue Rose Cen – Nashwa and Hollie Doyle will bring you down at Glorious Goodwood

AGINCOURT was a battle never forgotten, and racing has its equivalent today.

The English go head-to-head with the French once again in a smash up at Glorious Goodwood.

Chappers reckons Doyle and Nashwa can bring the French raider down at Goodwood[/caption]

NASHWA, ridden by the darling of the weighing room Hollie Doyle, takes on French raider Blue Rose Cen in an absolute corker for the Qatar Nassau Stakes (3.35) over a tricky mile and a quarter.

The Group 1 contest also features Al Husn, who beat Nashwa at Newcastle on the artificial surface there, and Above The Curve, a Group 2 winner in France earlier this term.

Oaks third Caernarfon is in the mix for good measure, too.

Trained by John & Thady Gosden, former French Oaks heroine Nashwa was right back to her best last time at Newmarket last time when landing the Falmouth Stakes in an absolute canter.

If she is in the same form today, I can’t see her getting beat.

But In Blue Rose Cen she faces a class act who has looked supreme in the French 1,000 Guineas and like Nashwa the Diane.

The Christopher Head filly destroyed the reopposing Never Ending Story last time and looks something very special.

Coverage on ITV on Thursday gets under way with the Coral Kincsem Handicap for three-year-olds over a mile and a quarter.

PERFUSE (1.50) has to go close for the dream team of Sir Michael Stoute and Ryan Moore.

The lightly raced son of Lope De Vega didn’t quite get home at Ascot over a mile and a half in the King George V Handicap but did well considering he was always in touch with a strong gallop.

Remember the winner that day came from near last to first.

Perfuse has a good draw in seven and this trip should be ideal.

Next up is the Group 2 Markel Richmond Stakes for juveniles over five furlongs.

VANDEEK (2.25) might not have the experience to win this but he’s very promising for Simon & Ed Crisford and should give Hong Kong-bound and top pilot Andrea Atzeni a good ride.

The son of Havana Grey was well backed on debut at Nottingham and out up a fine effort to get the better of a Stoute inmate.

He was slowly away and ducked left at the start that day so with a normal start there should be much more to come.

They should go hard here which will help bundles.

ITV also show the competitive Group 3 John Pearce Racing Group 3 Gordon Stakes for three-year-olds over a mile and a half.

ESPIONAGE (3.00) looks a very strong stayer and should take some beating for Aidan O’Brien and Moore.

Second in a Group 1 as a juvenile, Espionage returned with a victory in a Listed race at Roscommon and should improve a bundle for that effort.
