Britain’s strongest family with THREE generations of bodybuilders will reunite at Mr Universe

BRITAIN’S strongest family are reuniting to take on the world – at next year’s Mr Universe competition.

Muscle-bound grandad Terry Weiss, 63, his son Kyle, 36, and his 16-year-old son Ethan will line up alongside one another for the event in Italy.

The trio qualified separately for the bodybuilding showpiece made famous by Terminator actor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

And Terry – who has won a staggering 90 titles during a glorious career – is even coming out of retirement.

He has already won Mr Universe and Mr World in his age category.

But the chance of making history with two other generations of his family was too tempting to pass up.

Terry, who once entered 35 competitions in one year, said: “I couldn’t miss this opportunity to compete and share my passion with those I love most.

“I still train and keep fit – although I genuinely thought my competition days were behind me.”

His son, Kyle Weiss, 36, appeared on stage with his dad at the tender age of three and was soon hooked by bodybuilding.

He followed in his footsteps, winning Mr Europe in the Summer and runner-up in Mr Universe.

Coach driver Kyle, of Barnsley, South Yorks., said: “We will get in at least two hours a day at the gym but my dad is an early bird.

“He likes to get there at the crack of dawn.

“Ethan tends to do his training around college so he will go even later in the day.”

The dad-of-six, who also judges competitions, added: “I couldn’t be more proud of him.

“Growing up, my dad was always my hero and it’s great to think my son sees me as an inspiration too.

“I love that we are doing this together. It’s great for the whole family.

“I’ve seen plenty of two generations in competitions but never three, so I imagine we’ll be quite a novelty.”

Ethan only started bodybuilding in the summer and had already won his first competition.

He followed it up with a third place at the British finals to win a place at the illustrious Mr Universe in July next year.

Ethan said: “It’s all happened so fast.

“I was at a competition with my dad last month and I asked what age I had to be to enter.

“They said I was old enough so I entered there and then and won. And now that’s it, I’ve got the bug.

“I’ve now got a lot to live up to with two champions before me.”

Between now and the competition the trio will have to follow a strict diet which includes seven high protein, low carb meals every day.
