The Saudi Pro League side are reportedly desperate to bring the Portugal midfielder to link up with Neymar.

According to Portuguese outlet Record, they made a move for the Man Utd captain in January.

A mega-money offer was made to the 29-year-old’s agents, in an attempt to bring another superstar to the Saudi revolution.

However, despite the huge deal on the table Fernandes decided to stay with the Red Devils.

But that hasn’t deterred Al-Hilal, who aren’t taking the snub as a no.

They believe they could tempt Fernandes in the summer in a blockbuster move.

Should he move to Al-Hilal, Fernandes will be joining a team currently seven points clear of Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr at the top of the Saudi Pro League.

Managed by Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, they are a side packed full of stars.

The likes of Aleksandar Mitrovic, former Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly and Brazilian superstar Neymar all ply their trade at Al-Hilal.

Fernandes joined Man Utd in a £68million deal in 2020.

He has since played 215 times for the club, scoring 71 goals.

Last season, Fernandes won his first piece of silverware when Man Utd lifted the Carabao Cup after beating Newcastle.

This season, he was installed as the club captain by manager Erik ten Hag, after Harry Maguire was stripped of the leadership.
