PIF controls majority stakes in the four biggest teams in the Saudi Arabian top division.

Al-Nassr, Al Hilal, Al Ittihad and Al Ahli all have investment from the Saudi fund who also own Newcastle United.

And after a summer of huge name signings for the Saudi Pro League, it’s said they’re already setting their sights on their next targets.

Fernandes is reportedly a name emerging from the list of potential signings for summer 2024.

And it’s suggested that representatives from PIF are set to hold talks with the midfielder’s entourage over the potential for future negotiations.

The Portuguese playmaker arrived at Old Trafford in 2020 from Sporting Lisbon in a deal worth up to £60million.

And has since made 200 appearances for the Red Devils scoring 67 goals and registering 57 assists.

Fernandes was rewarded for his consistent performances with the captain’s armband this season after manager Erik ten Hag stripped Harry Maguire of the duties.
