As he navigated the 13th hole, DeChambeau bizarrely moved a signpost out of the way.

In incredible pictures, the American could then be seen lugging it around.

This prompted a reaction from fans, with one wrote: “Hate to seem like a pearl-clutcher, but this is despicable from Bryson, using the sign-switching trick you see on cartoons to try to get his opponents to go the wrong way.”

While a second joked: “I didn’t realise Bryson DeChambeau was such a big Roman Empire guy. He loves old forms of punishment, I guess.”

A third quipped: “Bryson DeChambeau betrayed by his 3D printed irons and now must carry the Augusta cross.”

And a fourth asked: “WHAT IS BRYSON DOING?”

A fifth commented: “Bryson DeChambeau plays well one Masters and decides to just start picking up signs and carrying them around the property.”

And another added: “We need SOOOO much more Bryson DeChambeau in our lives.”

DeChambeau wasn’t breaking any rules with his antics.

The incident occurred after he had hit his drive miles right.

He then struck his second down the wrong fairway.

TV viewers were then left gobsmacked as he was seen carrying the sign around on screen.

As the signpost is classified as a movable object, DeChambeau was within his rights to move it, if he felt it interfered with his line of vision.
