MICHAEL VAN GERWEN suffered an unfortunate bounce-out during his World Matchplay clash against Joe Cullen.
The pair faced off in Blackpool looking to book their place in the quarter-final.

Commentator and former player Wayne Mardle was sent into meltdown with the “incredible” shot.
But one fan told him: “Calm down, not the place for those noises.”
Another said: “So unfair to him to replay that over and over.”
Van Gerwen survived the bounce out to take himself to the brink at 10-8 after Cullen won three straight legs from 9-5 adrift.
But after Cullen missed three clear darts for 10-9, Van Gerwen took the chance to pin his first match dart at double 18 and take the win.
The Dutchman progresses to play Andrew Gilding in the last eight after the 11-8 victory.
Van Gerwen said: “I cannot wait to play my next game. I’m buzzing.
“Andrew is probably one of the most underestimated players on the tour. When he’s on it he can be really dangerous.

“Of course I lost a big final to him at the UK Open before, but I’m not going to let him beat me in the next game.
“This is one of the biggest tournaments of the year. Everybody wants to win this, and I’m confident. I feel good.”
Earlier in the tournament, Van Gerwen knocked out British teen sensation Luke Littler.
