CHELSEA and Arsenal will have to pay as much as £90MILLION to lure striker Santiago Gimenez away from Feyenoord, according to reports.

Gimenez, 22, has been a sensation since arriving from Mexico at the beginning of last season.

Santiago Gimenez has scored 38 goals in 56 games since joining FeyenoordGetty

He scored 23 goals in all competitions during his debut campaign in the Netherlands.

And he has already netted a stunning 15 times in just 11 matches so far this season.

That form has seen him linked with both Real Madrid and Tottenham.

But, according to 90min, he is not considered to be a top target for Los Blancos.

And Chelsea and Arsenal could take advantage after watching him in recent weeks.

However, he certainly won’t come cheap.

It is said the Prem pair will have to pay an Eredivisie record fee in order to snatch him away from Feyenoord.

The record currently stands at £87m which is the amount Manchester United paid for Antony when he left Ajax last year.

Gimenez is under contract with Feyenoord until 2027.

As a result, the club are in a strong position when it comes to negotiating his transfer fee.

He is not thought to be available in the January window, so clubs will have to wait until next summer to try and sign him.

But Gimenez is not the only striker Chelsea and Arsenal are battling for.

The London rivals are also believed to be fighting it out for Brentford and England man Ivan Toney.
