Chelsea brutally told to avoid signing ‘Fifa player’ Jadon Sancho with Man Utd outcast to be axed by Sir Jim Ratcliffe

A FORMER Chelsea star has warned them against signing “Fifa player” Jadon Sancho.

Sancho has been axed from United’s WhatsApp group after already being barred from training with the senior side or using any of their facilities, including the canteen.

He was outcasted after a stand-off that started when he was left out of the squad for September’s 3-1 loss at Arsenal.

Boss Erik ten Hag said his training was not up to standard when quizzed on his absence afterwards, but Sancho posted on social media in response: “I will not allow people saying things that are completely untrue, I conducted myself in training very well this week.”

Even though the England ace, whose last cap came over two years ago, deleted the post, Ten Hag called for an apology that never came.

Both staff and team-mates urged Sancho — who joined from Borussia Dortmund for £73m in July 2021 — to back down but he has refused.

Now United are desperate to offload the star, who managed a mere three Premier League appearances this season before the row, as soon as possible.

Chelsea are one of the clubs believed to be plotting a swoop for Sancho once the January transfer window opens.

However, Glen Johnson, who won the Prem title and League Cup during his four years at Stamford Bridge, has delivered a stern warning to his old employers over a potential move.

And the 39-year-old ex-England full-back also stated that he believes Sancho is no more than a “Fifa player”.

Johnson told Betfred: “I think it’s a move they should definitely avoid.

“He has been at Manchester United for a long time and I can’t recall a time where he’s played three games or more in a row.

“If you’re not doing it at Manchester United, when you have more established and senior players in the dressing room that can kick you into shape, you’re not going to do it at Chelsea either.”

Since Todd Boehly took over the club last year, Chelsea have embarked on splashing the cash on younger players on long-term deals that they hope will flourish over the coming years.

However, Johnson also believes that Sancho’s potential arrival could affect the youthful squad.

He added: “If he goes to Chelsea where it’s a young dressing room, he’s going to get away with murder and he could potentially get worse.

“The kid has clearly got some ability, but there’s something wrong, whether it’s his attitude or his work rate, I’m not sure.

“He is more a Fifa player than a player for a big team in my opinion.”
