CHELSEA fans were dazzled by Mykhailo Mudryk’s breathtaking control during a pre-season friendly against Borussia Dortmund.

But the admiration did not last long as he failed to make the most of the wonderful first touch.

But his shot was a tame one as the German side comfortably cleared away[/caption]

Mauricio Pochettino’s men drew 1-1 with the German giants in Chicago in their final game before the start of the Premier League season.

Marius Wolf gave Dortmund the lead in the 80th minute, before 19-year-old youngster Mason Burstow levelled late on for Chelsea.

Mudryk came on for new signing Christopher Nkunku midway through the first half after the Frenchman limped off.

And he took the free-kick which led to Chelsea scoring their equaliser.

But his standout moment came in the 64th minute when Reece James switched the play to him on the left flank.

The Ukraine international, 22, took the high ball down with the most audacious flick – controlling it with his left foot before bursting into space.

However, it came to nothing as he cut inside and produced a tame shot which was easily blocked.

Chelsea fans varied in their reaction to the clip, with some praising the skill and others bemoaning the poor effort that followed.

One said: “Mudryk with the Neymar touch 😮‍💨.”

While another added: “The better [Luka] Modric.”

But others were not so kind, with a social media user responding: “The Neymar touch and the Fred finish.”

And a second replied: “He is trying to do [it] like Neymar but he will never be like him.”

Chelsea kick off their Premier League campaign at home to Liverpool on Sunday, August 13.

And Mudryk will be hoping to start the season in better form after starting his Chelsea career with no assists and two goals from 17 games.
