Fofana fired a top-corner opener from 25 yards in Sunday’s 2-2 Premier League draw at West Ham.

And when the Clarets led 2-0 at the break, he reposted a video from “The Burnley Way” X account of his brilliant breakthrough.

Stamford Bridge boss Mauricio Pochettino is thought to be prioritising a world-class frontman for his summer shopping list – with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Brentford hero Ivan Toney mentioned.

But Chelsea supporters reckon Burnley‘s borrowed star could do the job.

One responded to the 21-year-old’s post by saying: “Rather bring Fofana back off loan than have Osimhen.”

Another argued: “He’s a menace – good enough for us.”

But Fofana’s decision to tweet during the interval divided opinion.

A few fans joked he “must have a social media manager”.

And one urged him: “Finish the game before you do repost mate.”

A third said: “Never seen a player who posts his own goals.”

But other supporters pleaded for Fofana’s critics to “let him enjoy the moment”.

One argued: “If you don’t love yourself who’ll love you, let the boy enjoy.”

Another agreed: “I would do the same, incredible goal” while one posted: “Lol this is amazing. Good for him.”

The original goal clip and Fofana’s re-post were late removed due to copyright issues.

Meanwhile, one issue united viewers – their awe for Fofana’s goal.

Verdicts included: “Absolute belter” … “rocket” … “spectacular” and “great goal tbf”.

Unfortunately for Fofana and Burnley, however, West Ham fought back to deny Vincent Kompany’s men a rare win.

And it was ex-Clarets’ forward Danny Ings who nicked a stoppage-time leveller – although the draw was still enough to lift Burnley above Sheffield United at the bottom.
