CHELSEA are reportedly providing Kendry Paez and his family with 24/7 security.

The extraordinary measure comes amid scenes of unrest in his homeland of Ecuador.

The South American country has declared war on armed gangs following a terrifying attack during a live TV broadcast.

Hooded gunmen hijacked the show amid rising violence, with Ecuador president Daniel Noboa announcing a state of emergency.

And the Telegraph claims Chelsea are paying for round-the-clock security for latest starlet Paez.

The 16-year-old was signed by the Blues from Independiente del Valle last summer.

But he can’t move to London until 2025 when he turns 18.

And until the time comes, he will continue playing in Ecuador.

But Chelsea are keen to ensure Paez and his family remain safe, and have reportedly offered full support to the whizkid.

They are also said to have made the same offer to the family of £115million midfielder Moises Caicedo, who still reside in Ecuador.

Chelsea declined to comment.

Paez is already a five-time fully-fledged international with Ecuador.

And he netted five times in 24 top-flight matches for Independiente last season.

Paez came to England last month to watch Chelsea in action while also visiting the training ground at Cobham.

But more trips are planned as Todd Boehly looks to integrate him into the squad’s core as early as possible.
