And fans were left raving about the England Under-21 star following his second goal.

It came after Nicolas Jackson expertly rolled a defender before playing a beautifully weighted pass into the path of Palmer who was bearing down on Thomas Kaminski‘s goal.

The former Manchester City starlet then ball-rolled the ball with the studs of his left boot to the goalkeeper’s right.

A little bobble off the turf helped the ball to creep over the foot of the Hatter’s stopper, but after getting around the goalkeeper Palmer then jinked to his left to dodge an incoming defender.

Palmer then passed the ball into the net with his right foot to put Mauricio Pochettino‘s side three goals to the good.

And it would be needed as Rob Edwards’ side almost made a miraculous comeback.

Reacting to the goal on X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan said: “Ice in his veins. Some player.”

A second said: “Different gravy. I said Mesut Ozil vibes a long time ago. What a baller.”

A third said: “Palmer really sent the keeper to 2024.”

Another said: “Mesut Palmer.”

While a fifth added: “What A Performance From Palmer Today!”

The 21-year-old received a perfect ten out ten rating in SunSport’s player ratings from the game.

His brace today now means Palmer, who joined for £42.5million in the summer, is on eight league goals for the season, while his assist for Noni Madueke means he is also on four league assists.
