CONOR MCGREGOR has broken his silence on UFC 300 after seemingly being denied a spot on the card.

The long-awaited return of the Irishman appeared to be set to headline the April 13 card when it emerged his fight with Michael Chandler wouldn’t take place in 2023.

But despite his public pleas for a spot on the historic card, MMA‘s top promotion had different ideas for their poster boy.

McGregor has been vocal about his frustrations over his return, although they haven’t stopped him from hailing the card.

During a recent impromptu Q&A on Instagram, he said of the Sin City extravaganza: “I love it!

“They done a tremendous job under difficult timing. [‘m] highly impressed.

“Some absolute cracking fights on the card.”

McGregor, 35, claimed late last year that his long-overdue showdown with fellow fan favourite Chandler would take place on June 29.

UFC president and CEO Dana White, however, has refuted those claims – insisting he won’t be back until the autumn at the earliest.

But the Irishman insists he WILL headline UFC 303 – which will close out International Fight Week.

When asked by Adam’s Apple when the fight is happening, he said: “June 29.”

When further pressed on the date being official, McGregor roared: “Yeah, call that!”

Former two-weight champion McGregor admits his desire to compete is waning with each passing month.

He wrote on Instagram: “[I’m] still holding hope for June 29.

“Lack of action on it, however, is now causing lack of enthusiasm. I need a decision soon.

“I am the most tested athlete under this new regime. Yet no date to fight.

“The game is a bit lacklustre also at present, which isn’t helping.

“I hope these next few cards pop and I get a date.

“Eliminate distractions and begin real work towards it.”

UFC 300 takes place at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena and is headlined by a light-heavyweight title fight between Alex Pereira and Jamahal Hill.
