Cricketer Vikas Negi died on the pitch due to a heart attack

It was during the 14th over of the Mavericks XIs innings, while Lakshay was bowling, that this shocking event unfolded.

The footage captured the moment when Umesh Kumar, who was batting on 2, skillfully directed the ball towards the fine leg, resulting in a four.

However, as the runner approached him to touch bats, Vikas Negi, a player from Mavericks XIs, suddenly collapsed onto the ground.

The other players swiftly rushed to his aid, opting to perform CPR to revive him.

In a race against time, a car promptly arrived at the scene and transported Negi to a nearby hospital.

Tragically, despite the efforts made, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

At the time of the incident, Negi scored 7 runs off six deliveries, with the Mavericks XI scoreboard displaying 143 for 5 in 13.5 overs.

Following a brief lull, the Mavericks set a target of 184 for the Bulls after scoring 183 for 9 in 19.2 overs.
