DEAN HENDERSON’S transfer to Nottingham Forest is in jeopardy after they reportedly identified an alternative target.

The former Manchester United No.1 is expected to leave this summer after the Red Devils £47million acquisition of Andre Onana.

It had been widely expected that Henderson would move back to the City Ground for the upcoming season by turning his loan move into a permanent transfer.

However, the move now appears to be under threat after Steve Cooper‘s side identified Arsenal star Matt Turner as an alternative.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Forest have already asked the Gunners for their conditions to strike a deal for the American.

And his report adds they will only sign ONE goalkeeper this summer.

It was reported earlier today that Mikel Arteta wants to recruit Brentford contract rebel David Raya to provide competition for Aaron Ramsdale – with Turner set to make way.

This being said, The Athletic claim there is a gap in valuation between Forest and Arsenal over Turner.

Forest have already moved to sign Man Utd winger Anthony Elanga in a £15million deal.

And Henderson threw up a huge hint that he would be heading to Forest under Elanga’s post announcing the move.

Forest’s latest signing captioned a photo of himself signing a contract: “What a privilege to sign for this historic football club!

“I’m honestly so happy and excited to be here, I haven’t stopped smiling! Thank you for the amazing welcome.”

This prompted Henderson to reply excitedly: “What a club! Let’s go.”
