OLYMPICS fans were convinced Deontay Wilder made a mystery appearance at the closing ceremony.

The 2024 Paris Games were officially brought to a close with the customary curtain call.

During the ceremony, a masked figure walked on stage holding the flag of Greece.

And viewers could not help but compare the look to boxer Wilder’s infamous ring walk outfit worn against Tyson Fury.

One said: “Didn’t Deontay Wilder learn the last time…”

Another added: “Gotta admire Deontay Wilder for this.”

One joked: “Deontay Wilder moving on from boxing I see.”

Former heavyweight boxing champion Wilder infamously blamed his 2020 loss to Fury on his heavy ring walk attire.

The costume weighed over 45lb (3 stone) and was blamed for tiring out the American’s legs.

Wilder was beaten in seven rounds and then lost the trilogy bout a year later in eleven.

The Bronze Bomber actually won Olympic bronze for USA in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
