SHAUN MURPHY was forced to take cover again as he was attacked by the Ally Pally wasp for the second time this weekend.
Murphy spotted the bug flying around the table just as he was about to break off at the start of the UK Masters final.
A wasp was seen harassing Murphy[/caption]Murphy pointed out the wasp to the referee before the showpiece against Kyren Wilson started.
But he caught the wasp in his gaze and continued to track it, delaying the start of the match.
Murphy was then seen moving away from the table when the ref said: “On your back.”
The Magician then ducked to try and shake it off.
As he got to his corner he turned around and spotted it right behind him, prompting more weaving before waving a piece of cloth at the back of his head.
However, the referee then instructed him, “Don’t do anything”.
It seemed to briefly do the trick as the wasp moved away from Murphy, though not so far that he and the ref could not track it with their eyes.
With the wasp moving away from the table, play then began with Murphy finally able to break.
Despite the distraction, Murphy took the opening frame 98-0.
The world No7 then followed this up by winning the second frame 78-4.
Murphy also came under assault from a wasp during his semi-final victory over Mark Allen, remarkably hitting a 147 after that incident.
