THERE’S been plenty of drama but it’s the news everyone had their fingers crossed for this morning.
That’s because the pitch at the Scot Foam stadium has PASSED an 11am pitch inspection.
That means it’s green for go for Dundee’s clash with Motherwell – with the Fir Park men having played a waiting game at Fir Park for the last few hours.
The two sides both still have ambitions of reaching the Scottish Premiership top six.
It’s also good news for the prospects of title-chasing Rangers getting their scheduled match at Dens Park this Wednesday on, although it remains to be seen what condition the pitch will be in, particularly if there is further rainfall.
The contingency plan if Dens had failed the pitch inspection would be to try to play the game on Sunday at 3pm.
And the fall-back plan if the pitch was still unplayable would have been to play at neutral Airdrie on Monday afternoon behind closed doors.
More to follow.
