CHELSEA still have no new shirt on sale just a week before this season kicks-off as their search for a sponsor goes on.

The Blues revealed their new outfit for the 2023/24 campaign last month.

Despite it currently having no front sponsor, Mauricio Pochettino’s side have already worn it throughout their pre-season campaign.

Chelsea have confirmed on their website that the new home kit will be available to buy from August 16 – a full three days after their Premier League opener at home to Liverpool.

However, there is no option to pre-order it as the club continues to try and strike a partnership deal for a new sponsor after a number of setbacks.

They had been sponsored by Three since 2020, but did not renew the deal this summer.

The Blues were closing in on an incredible deal with Paramount+ – who represented Inter Milan in the 2023 Champions League final.

The Premier League blocked Chelsea’s deal with Paramount+ as they feared a link-up with the streaming service could upset rights holders.

Bosses confirmed it would not be permitted under the Deed of License – a contractual agreement between the league and its clubs.

Now they have been left scrambling for another sponsor after they had already rejected an offer from gambling company Stake following criticism from fans and campaigners.

Talks with German banking giant Allianz also fell through after they offered just £20m a year.

Chelsea are believed to still be in negotiations over a sponsorship deal and must decide whether they want a short or long-term arrangement.

Fans have revelled in seeing their stars playing in the sponsor-less retro 90s kit over recent weeks, but most of them are still asking the same question online?

One tweeted: “Wait, Chelsea still haven’t gotten and jersey sponsors up until now?”

Another wrote: “So are Chelsea going to get a Kit sponsor or not?”

A fellow fan echoed those sentiments, tweeting: “Wait Chelsea still don’t have a sponsor for their jersey and PL is starting next week.”

Even though many like the look of it without a sponsor, the failure to qualify for the Champions League has left them looking for extra revenue and they are highly unlikely to go through the campaign without any sponsorship at all.

And that left one other supporter asking: “Are we going to have a sponsor this season or is it time to admit we are not terribly well managed on the commercial side?”
