The underdog’s fantastic performance saw him earn praise from Hearn, who has close ties to Haney.

And as the promoter hailed Garcia during a backstage interview, he was interrupted by the fighter’s dad Henry.

He walked past and shouted in an X-rated attack: “That’s what you get. You’re a piece of s***.”

Hearn hit back: “Oh really? F*** you. F*** you. What are you talking about?”

Garcia Sr then grabbed his private parts, making a rude gesture as he continued: “F*** you, you know you’re a piece of s*** and that’s what you get.”

“Now what are you going to say? Luke Campbell and Devin Haney, f*** you. Now who have you got?”

Hearn replied with the name of welterweight title holder Jaron Ennis, who recently joined Matchroom Boxing.

And it managed to lead to the war of words stopping instantly.

Garcia Sr then walked up to Hearn and shook his hand as they embraced each other.

He apologised his outburst and the pair were all smiles.

Hearn said: “It’s a sport and when you win I’ll give you all the respect you deserve. I accept your apology.”

He was then thanked by Garcia’s dad as he revealed he had just been into the 25-year-old Californian’s dressing room and congratulated him on his win.

Fans reacted to the dispute: “Quickest beef ever.”

Another added: “Folded so quickly.”

A third commented: “Respect to Eddie though.”

Despite his crushing victory in New York, Garcia did not claim Haney’s WBC light-welterweight title after missing weight for the contest.
