GRAHAM POTTER is favourite for the England job.

That’s according to bookmakers Betfair, who’ve slashed their price on Brighton’s manager replacing Gareth Southgate.

Potter was available at 12/1 but has shortened markedly to 3/1 frontrunner.

There’s also been several price changes over the past week with Eddie Howe in at 5/1.

Mauricio Pochettino, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard are all locked together at 10/1, while Pep Guardiola is offered at 12s.

It’s 16/1 for Leicester’s Brendan Rodgers, Steve Cooper and Steve Holland, with Arsene Wenger a distant 20/1.

Talk of a change of manager comes as a result of England’s lacklustre Nations League campaign.

The Three Lions suffered their worst home defeat in more than 90 years when losing 4-0 to 40th-ranked Hungary.

It brought a close to the international break, in which Southgate’s side failed to win.

England next manager

Betfair odds

  • Graham Potter – 3/1
  • Eddie Howe – 5/1
  • Frank Lampard – 10/1
  • Mauricio Pochettino – 10/1
  • Steven Gerrard – 10/1
  • Pep Guardiola – 12/1
  • Brendan Rodgers – 16/1
  • Steve Cooper – 16/1
  • Steve Holland – 16/1
  • Arsene Wenger – 20/1
  • Aidy Boothroyd – 20/1
  • Sean Dyche – 20/1

Furthermore, England scored just once, and that was a Harry Kane penalty in the 1-1 draw with Germany.

It’s the first time since 2014 that England have gone on a four-game winless streak.

And despite being the second most successful manager in the England men’s side’s history — the pressure is mounting on Southgate ahead of November’s World Cup in Qatar.

Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: “Pressure is building on Gareth Southgate following England’s shock defeat to Hungary, which leaves them winless in the Nations League.

“Looking at Southgate’s successors, Graham Potter is the 3/1 favourite to replace him with Eddie Howe 5/1, while Frank Lampard, Mauricio Pochettino and Steven Gerrard are all 10/1.”
