But with superb footballers comes obscene wages with most of the England squad earning MEGA money at their clubs.

Here SunSport takes a look at some of the Three Lions’ top earners, according to Capology, who are preparing for clashes with Brazil and Belgium during the break.

Jordan Pickford

Everton‘s shot-stopper has proved his worth on Merseyside and never lets down England in-between the sticks.

His brick wall abilities in net reportedly earn him an incredible £125,000 per week.

Kyle Walker

The veteran full-back just signed fresh terms at Manchester City this season after winning five Premier League titles, four League Cups, two FA Cups and a Champions League with the Cityzens.

Helping fill up the trophy cabinet at the Etihad Stadium has meant he sees a cool £175,000 sent his way every week.

Harry Maguire

Southgate’s ol’ reliable was once the most expensive centre-back in the world – meaning he’s earning a considerable amount as a result.

The towering defender is said to be earning £190,000 per week at Old Trafford where he has returned to form after a turbulent year.

Ben Chilwell

The only fit out-and-out left-back in the current England squad is Ben Chilwell.

Despite his injury woes since arriving at Chelsea from Leicester in 2020, the 27-year-old is rumoured to be earning a whopping £200,000 per week.

Rice is one the top earners for the Gunners with reports suggesting he is making £240,000 per week.

Kobbie Mainoo

England’s newest addition is killing it for Manchester United in the Premier League.

But at just 18-years-old Mainoo is earning considerably less than his teammates having just broken into the first team at Old Trafford.

Despite signing a new deal in February of last year, expect a boosted contract to be handed to the rising star in the near future, but for now it is said he is earning £10,000 per week.

Jude Bellingham

Not only one of the best players in the England squad, but also one of the best players in the world.

Jude Bellingham is earning what you would expect from a world-beater playing amongst the stars for Real Madrid with reports suggesting a £340,000 per week wage.

Bukayo Saka

Bukayo Saka has become one of the first names on the teamsheet for Southgate and a leading star in the Premier League.

Arsenal tied him down to a long-term contract at the end of last season that better reflects his influence for the Gunners and reportedly sees him earn an incredible £295,000 per week including bonuses.

Phil Foden

Another star player who is having a serious influence on the title race, Phil Foden is amongst the best players in the Premier League.

It’s fair to say that the 23-year-old’s reported £225,000 per week contract reflects his talent too.

Harry Kane

England’s captain took the leap of faith to swap Tottenham for Bayern Munich this summer and was compensated handsomely for it.

It is said that the bagsman is making in excess of £410,000 per week making him England’s highest earning star by some margin.

Although with 37 goals and 12 assists in his 35 games for Bayern Munich it’s safe to say his eye-watering salary was expected.

Marcus Rashford

James Maddison

Tottenham spent £40m on James Maddison this summer when they snapped him up from a Championship Leicester side.

The somewhat cut-price transfer fee didn’t seem to have much of an impact on the attacking midfielder’s wages which are understood to be around £170,000 per week.

Jordan Henderson

Jordan Hendserson took a huge drop in wages to leave Al-Ettifaq this January after his Middle East move turned sour.

Now at Ajax he is reportedly earning £120,000 per week – less than half of the £350,000 per week he was pocketing while in Saudi Arabia.

Cole Palmer

Chelsea’s Cole Palmer is putting up numbers in the Premier League that are similar to Three Lions teammates Bukayo Saka and Phil Foden.

But his Blues contract is some way off that earned by the two who are dictating the title race as thing stand.

Cool Cole is reportedly on a deal worth £75,000 per week at Stamford Bridge.
