ERIK TEN HAG is eyeing a move for another of his old Ajax players, according to reports.
The Manchester United boss, 53, has already signed Lisandro Martinez and Antony from the Dutch giants, while he also brought in keeper Andre Onana from Inter Milan – who played under him in the Eredivisie.
Now he is being linked with a move for striker Brian Brobbey after the Netherlands international’s impressive first half of the season.
Brobbey, 21, has scored 13 goals and provided four assists in 25 appearances.
According to Sky Sports, Ten Hag wants to bring the Dutch forward in during the January transfer window.
The Red Devils boss is understood to have been in contact with the player since the summer when the possibility of a move was first floated.
Brobbey played 19 games under Ten Hag during the 2020/21 season, before he left for RB Leipzig.
He then returned to Ajax on loan in the 2021/22 campaign and made his comeback permanent the following summer.
Ajax, who sit fifth in the Eredivisie as they continue to recover from a nightmare start, are keen not to sell Brobbey before the end of the season.
And they are in a commanding position when it comes to negotiations as his contract runs until 2027.

But there is believed to be a “high appreciation” between Ten Hag and Brobbey, with a deal also possible in the summer.
It comes after Ajax bolstered their squad earlier this week with the signing of former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson.
Meanwhile, Man Utd are looking for more firepower having scored just 24 goals in 21 Premier League games this season.
Crystal Palace, Burnley and Sheffield United are the only clubs to have netted fewer, with midfielder Scott McTominay the Red Devils’ top scorer in the league on five.
