ERIK TEN HAG has revealed that it is an “aim” to keep hold of Anthony Martial.
The Manchester United forward has been tipped with an exit from the club in the January transfer window.
Anthony Martial has struggled this season[/caption]Martial, 28, has struggled for form this season, having only scored once in 13 Premier League outings.
The Frenchman was available in the summer but stayed at Old Trafford despite interest from clubs such as West Ham and Fenerbahce.
Martial is in the last year of his contract at the club and could agree an exit in January.
Manager Ten Hag however is keen to keep hold of the struggling forward for at least the remainder of the season.
When asked about a potential sale of Martial, he said: “When we have news, then of course I will tell it.
“But that is not our aim”.
Earlier this month Ten Hag confirmed that Martial was one of four players that could be handed a new contract.
The Red Devils boss had revealed that talks were underway with Martial, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, and Hannibal Mejbri.
The club has the option to extend the deals by a further year.

January is potentially a huge month for Man United with seven players at risk of being axed.
The likes of Casemiro, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Raphael Varane could see their places threatened due to the arrival of investor Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
The billionaire now owns 25 per cent of the club, which has been toiling under the ownership of Glazers for several years.
SunSport understands Ratcliffe will make changes to the structure of the club and is contemplating axing ten Hag.
He is expected to overhaul the Dutchman’s underperforming squad drastically.
