Erling Haaland reveals ‘annoying’ football rule he’d love to change as he complains ‘it doesn’t matter’

MANCHESTER  CITY star Erling Haaland finds throw-ins ‘annoying’ and admits he doesn’t even know the rules. 

The Norwegian striker let loose some strong opinions when asked what he would like to change about the game on the Manchester City podcast.

Haaland jumped at the opportunity to vent his frustration, saying: “What annoys me is the throw-ins.

“I’d change that – just have two hands on the ball. 

“We will see what happens in the future but you need a certain time limit to take throw-ins and you cannot take too many metres – just give a mark and you can only go there.”

In their 2-1 defeat of Luton in December, City were called out for a foul throw which could perhaps be the reason for Haaland’s irritation. 

The match, in which City had to come from behind, was already very tense and would have been their fifth consecutive league game without a win had they lost.

Either way, the rules around throw-ins have clearly got under the Norwegian’s skin and he continued his rant, saying: “If you throw like this or this or whatever, it doesn’t matter. 

“Just have two hands on the ball and throw the ball. 

“I don’t know the rules even, but if you throw down or up it doesn’t matter!”

The Man City hitman has missed a chunk of the season with a foot injury, which caused him to miss 12 matches, but was back to full fitness against Brentford on Monday.

Despite spending a hefty chunk of the term on the sidelines, he’s scored 19 goals across all competitions and 14 in the Premier League.

This makes him the Premier League’s joint top scorer, along with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

He will next be in action this weekend when City play Everton at the Etihad.

Away from the pitch, Haaland was recently spotted at a petrol station as he filled up up his £300,000 Rolls Royce in a ribbed cream tracksuit.
