Everton 2 Chelsea 0: Blues slip into bottom half after another woeful display as Toffees go 4 points clear of drop zone

LEWIS DOBBINS’ late goal inflicted more pain on Chelsea as he fired Everton to consecutive wins.

The Blues had visited Goodison Park hoping to bounce back from their loss to Manchester United in mid-week.

Chelsea put in a woeful display[/caption]

Chelsea suffered an early blow as Reece James was forced to be replaced by Levi Colwill due to injury, in front of the on-looking England manager Gareth Southgate.

Neither team was able to break the deadlock in the first half, with Jordan Pickford the only keeper having to make a save.

Everton took the lead in the 54th minute as Abdoulaye Doucoure fired in a rebound after Dominic Calvert-Lewin was denied by Robert Sanchez.

Cole Palmer went close to an equaliser but his low free-kick was stopped by Pickford.

There was another injury blow for Chelsea as Sanchez was forced off late on with a knock.

The Blues continued to press for an equaliser but were unable to find a way through the Toffees’ defence.

Everton made sure of the result as Lewis Dobbin netted in the 92nd minute with a brilliant strike from the edge of the box.
