According to Sky Sports, Lingard has verbally agreed a two-year deal with the option of a further year to join FC Seoul.

The 31-year-old is expected to fly to South Korea to complete the deal in the coming days.

FC Seoul are six-time K League champions and have twice reached the final of the Asian Champions League.

Their squad includes former Swansea and Newcastle midfielder Ki Sung-yeung, who helped the club to a seventh place finish in 2023.

Lingard had been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia this month.

However, Al-Shabab were unable to complete the deal before the Saudi Pro League window slammed shut.

A number of Turkish clubs had also been monitoring Lingard, who even offered himself to Barcelona.

He has been available since his Forest deal expired at the end of June last year.
