LIVERPOOL star Fabinho’s move to Saudi Arabian giants Al-Ittihad is at risk.

And this has nothing to do with the midfielder’s two French bulldogs, according to The Athletic.

Instead, the Brazil international’s transfer is in jeopardy because of a delay to the process.

The Saudi Pro-League outfit have offered the Reds £40million for the 29-year-old, who would make a staggering £425,000-a-week if he joined Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante.

However, the entire process has hit a snag and Fabinho is now expected to link up with the Merseysiders after missing out on their pre-season camp in Germany.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have returned to the UK and the German tactician will have the Brazilian back to the fold until further notice.

Negotiations are still ongoing, with Al-Ittihad’s desire to sign the ex-Monaco star undiminished.

And all parties remain committed to getting the deal over the line if possible.

Fabinho’s agent Jorge Mendes has strong links with Liverpool as well as Saudi Arabia and thus the switch still likely to happen despite the stall.

This comes after sensational reports claiming the former Real Madrid ace’s move was about to fall apart because his dogs aren’t allowed to the country.

A leaked Saudi Arabian document circulating on Twitter suggested that bulldogs are banned due to being on a list of “dangerous and aggressive” dogs.

The list can be circumvented however if the pets are to be used for hunting, serving as a guard dog or if they are seeing dogs for the blind.

However, the delay hasn’t been caused because of Fabinho’s beloved pets.

Liverpool are preparing to lose their star midfielder in the summer and are already looking for potential replacements.

Klopp’s targets include Crystal Palace’s Cheick Doucoure, Southampton’s Romeo Lavia, Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat, Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch and Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips.

This comes after the Premier League giants landed Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai from Brighton and RB Leipzig respectively.
