FOOTBALL fans are confused after fearing Eric Dier had altered his accent after arriving in Munich.
The defender signed for Bayern Munich on Thursday in a £3.5million move from Tottenham, ending his nine-and-a-half-year stay in North London.
Eric Dier puzzled fans with his accent[/caption]He bid Spurs farewell in an emotional video and is beginning to settle into his new life in Germany.
But some fans thought he had grown too comfortable after mistakenly believing he had changed his accent after joining the German giants.
In a short clip shared by the club’s official social media channels Dier was asked if he had spoken to his long-term pal Harry Kane.
Some thought he had put on more of a European twang to his voice with one joking: “He’s doing a McClaren”.
Steve McClaren famously spoke in a Dutch accent after arriving at Twente but more astute supporters pointed out the fact Dier has always had an accent, having spent a large portion of his childhood in Portugal.
One said: “That’s literally just what he sounds like. Good banter though boys.”
Another added: “Pretty sure he’s always had an accent since he grew up in Portugal.”
A third wrote: “He’s pretty much always had somewhat an accent tbf.”
