The victory sent Arsenal through to Europe’s last eight for the first time since 2010.

And they now await Friday’s draw, with giants like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Barcelona all possible opponents.

However, fans were left stunned after an old tweet making a huge prediction was unearthed.

Posted on December 16, 2014, it made a bold prediction about Odegaard and Arsenal’s Champions League hopes.

At the time, Odegaard was just 15 years old and just a month away from his famous move from Stromsgodset to Real Madrid.

The tweet read: “If Arsenal do sign Martin Odegaard, they’re a shoo-in for the 2024 Champions League quarter-finals.”

Fast forward almost 10 years and Odegaard, now Arsenal captain, netted his side’s first penalty in the shootout to seal a place in the quarters.

Arsenal’s official X account responded to the old tweet, posting a picture of a crystal ball.

Meanwhile, one fan said: “This aged well.”

Another declared: “It’s like he sees the future.”

One noted: “Football is scripted.”

Another added: “I can’t stop crying, I love you Odegaard.”

However, some fans claimed the post was fake and had been edited.

One said: “This was definitely edited.”

Another boomed: “They’ve edited it.”

Odegaard has been at Arsenal since 2021, having initially joined on loan from Real.

He has gone on to score 33 goals in 141 games for the Gunners.

And Odegaard is dreaming of a league and European double under Mikel Arteta.

He said: “You can’t think too much about the past but obviously you want to keep building your own history.

“We want to do some amazing things with this team and that’s our goal, that’s our focus, to focus on us at the moment.

“It’s something really nice to play for, to go through in this tournament.

“It’s a big goal and a big dream for all the players playing in football today, to go far in this competition so hat’s a massive motivation for all of us and that’s what we’re playing for.”
