EDSON ALVAREZ’s day went from bad to worse as he got lost looking for the tunnel after being sent off against Nottingham Forest.

The West Ham star was dismissed for two yellow card offences before half-time at the City Ground.

Alvarez, 27, picked up his first booking for a cynical pull on Murillo’s shirt in the 39th minute.

The midfielder then saw red as he sythed down Anthony Elanga just eight minutes later.

After being given his marching orders, the Mexican international tried making his way to the changing rooms.

A video captured Alvarez walking towards the corner of the pitch and then realising that the tunnel was by the halfway line.

Nottingham Forest fans could not help themselves but poke fun at the Hammers ace from the stands.

Chants could be heard, such as “You don’t know where you’re going,” directed at the lost midfielder.

It is the second yellow card Alvarez has picked up this season as he was dismissed against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup.

He will now miss West Ham’s clash against Everton next week and join Mohammed Kudus on the suspension list.

After the break, Callum Hudson-Odoi curled in the hosts’ second before Ola Aina netted a fantastic second.

The full-back first in a rocket strike from outside the box to seal the win for the East Midland’s outfit.

The defender shared a video on social media back in the changing rooms of his foot as he claimed it was “still hot” from the blistering strike.

The result has catapulted Forest to third in the Premier League table and meant that they have won three top-flight fixtures in a row for the first time since 1999.

Manager Nuno Espirito Santo has now completed his three-game touchline ban.

After watching the victory from the stands, he insisted that the side keep their focus.

He said: “We worked very hard this week. The intensity is what we are focused on. We have to work, and work hard.

“And we need to improve much more. Nothing has changed since the beginning. We have to keep on going. Believe me, there is no other way. If you get distracted, football doesn’t forgive you.

“Now I’m thinking about Tuesday and the next training session, because that is what’s important. It (the table) doesn’t mean anything now.

“We just have to keep going, keep going. It’s a very long season and every player is going to be needed – we saw that today. It’s a positive moment but we have to keep going.”
