FOOTBALL fans have noticed TWO bizarre mistakes on the packaging of Yeovil Town’s official merchandise.
Two major spelling errors were made on some items – including the cardboard packaging for scarves.
Yeovil Town’s merchandise had two big spelling mistakes on the packaging[/caption]Rather than reading ‘Yeovil‘, the label on the scarves read ‘Yeovl’ – with the i missing.
The word ‘merchandise’ was also misspelled due to the absence of the letter r and instead read ‘mechandise’.
One person took to social media after noticing the mistakes and wrote: “How importnt is spelling? Does it mtter if you mis out certan letters?
“The packaging for @YTFC’s new merchandise has two errors in the four words – including the word Yeovil.”
Another commented: “That is truly awful. Correct spelling and grammar are important. Without it the written word becomes meaningless.”
While a third said: “It’s about brand….its amateurish and devalues the brand. Tbf bet they’re gutted.”
In response, a Yeovil Town spokesperson recently told BBC Radio Somerset: “Human error is natural; we’re not robots.”
Despite the mistakes on the packaging, the actual scarves have no spelling errors.
