MANCHESTER UNITED fans have slammed Erik ten Hag for signing a team of flops who have played in the Netherlands.
Ten Hag joined the Red Devils from Dutch side Ajax two years ago.
Fans have bemoaned some of Erik ten Hag’s signings[/caption]And it did not take him long to put his stamp on the United squad, bringing in several players who he has worked with before.
Lisandro Martinez and Antony were the first to arrive from Ajax but they were just the start as Ten Hag has built a squad of players who once played in his native country.
Some, such as Martinez, have been successful captures, but fans feel there are far too many flops in the team.
For example, Wout Weghorst failed to score in 17 Premier League games after arriving on loan from Burnley in 2023.
While Sofyan Amrabat struggled to nail down a regular place in the side despite Ten Hag chasing him for much of the summer last year.
And Mason Mount, who had a loan spell at Vitesse in 2017-18, spent much of last season sidelined with injury following his £60million transfer from Chelsea.
Red Devils fans have bemoaned Ten Hag’s transfer policy, with some claiming he has a limited knowledge.
One supporter said: “Ten Hag’s talent ID is in peanuts. He’s limited to Ajax and the Netherlands.”
