FANS have been re-living Roy Keane’s incredible handshake snub of Diego Simeone and Ronaldo.

The Manchester United legend ignored the duo ahead of a Champions League clash against Inter Milan.

The Red Devils, captained by Keane, were taking on the Italian giants in the quarter-finals of the competition in 1999.

As the teams shook hands ahead of the match at the San Siro, Inter duo Simeone and Ronaldo bent down to pull up their socks.

Keane had no intention of waiting for them to finish with their alterations.

The Irishman continued at his pace and walked past them, leaving the pair with a confused look on their faces.

The moment has recently been reshared on social media, with fans loving reminiscing about the midfielder in his heyday.

One fan joked: “What a guy.”

United drew the match 1-1 but won the two-legged tie on aggregate thanks to a 2-0 win at Old Trafford.

The result saw United progress to the semi-finals against Juventus.

The Red Devils won that tie 3-2 before going on to defeat Bayern Munich in the final 2-1.

Keane continued to play until hanging up his boots in 2006 after a short stint with Celtic.

He went into coaching and managed Sunderland and Ipswich Town as well as working with the Republic of Ireland national team.

Keane now works as a pundit for Sky Sports and is often praised for his no-holds-barred critical analysis of clubs, players and managers.
