But during the five rounds of action the fight did see, AJ was comfortably on top.

And the performance has left fans convinced he could even beat Tyson Fury, who was given a run for his money when he went the distance with Wallin in their 2019 fight.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan said: “That’s the best Anthony Joshua has looked since the Klitschko fight in 2017. He’s so back!”

A second said: “Anthony Joshua wins the fight round five by a corner stoppage! That was easy for him! He’s back!”

A third said: “Tyson Fury went life and death with Otto Wallin. Anthony Joshua beat the living shit out of Otto Wallin for five rounds and made Otto Wallin quit in his corner stool. LEVELS!!!!!”

Another said: “If OTTO WALLIN gave Fury issues I’m sorry but Joshua and [Oleksansdr] Usyk demolish him.”

While Joshua will no longer have the chance for a £100million pay day after Deontay Wilder lost to Joseph Parker, promoter Eddie Hearn also believes that AJ is vying to be the best in the world again.

Speaking after the fight, he said: “He’s back, he’s back.

“I believe that this Anthony Joshua is the best heavyweight in the world.

“In this mindset, with this team, I think he’s unbeatable. 2024 is gonna be a massive year for him.”

Hearn also all-but-confirmed who Joshua’s next opponent would be.

He said: “He wants to become a three-time heavyweight world champion. It’s going to be AJ vs Hrgovic for the vacant IBF world title.”
